Two pens that work together to tell diamond apart from moissanite.
- Diamond Selector II (heat test): shows whether a stone moves heat like a diamond. Cubic zirconia and most other simulants fail this test. Moissanite also moves heat very well, so this pen alone cannot tell diamond and moissanite apart.
- Moissanite Tester (electrical test): moissanite conducts a tiny electrical current and diamond does not. Use it on any stone that read as diamond on the first pen. If it lights up for moissanite, the stone is moissanite.
Includes 1 Diamond Selector II, 1 Moissanite Tester, a carry case, a test tray and instructions. Each pen runs on a 9V battery.
Good to know: these are basic consumer testers, not lab equipment. The moissanite pen is made for colorless moissanite. Some newer low-conductivity moissanite can read as diamond, and some lab-grown or blue diamonds (which contain boron) can read as moissanite. Keep the probe clean and use fresh batteries. For an important purchase, confirm with a jeweler or a lab report (GRA for moissanite, IGI or GIA for diamonds).

Ring size: wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, and compare that length to a printable ring size chart, or ask a local jeweler to size you. Between sizes? Go up one.

The metal and stone for this piece are listed in the description above. Moissanite is a lab-created gem (silicon carbide). Gold-tone options are a gold-colored finish.
Put on perfume and lotion first, then your jewelry, and take it off to swim, shower or work out. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then dry well. Silver tarnishes naturally; a silver polishing cloth brings back the shine. Store each piece separately.
